Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Asami moved to Vancouver to pursue her career as a painter. After graduating from Emily Carr University with BFA, Asami soon realized that painting is a rather difficult way to make a living and she decided to learn new skills at VCC to become a graphic designer.
Inspirations come from all sorts of places for Asami, from David Carson to a dodgy diner on Hastings. She also has a passion for contributing to DTES community by making designs for various non-profit organizations. Living in a various cities in the world from Tokyo to Berlin, she has a strong understanding on how design trends change from one place to another. Asami is open to different career opportunities and excited to immerse herself in a various projects after graduation.
